You’ve probably read or heard this saying in recent years. I love this new saying not just because of the obvious meaning, but because of the deeper implications. In our current age of social media and reality TV, many people seem to have lost sight of what truly matters. Too much emphasis is placed on appearances and nowhere near enough is placed on substance. Society seems stuck in the adolescent mindset of worrying about what others think of them rather than what they think of themselves.
“Strong is the new skinny” shows us there is hope. It tells us there is a movement of people wanting to be strong, not just look strong. It reveals there are people wanting to break free of trying to measure up to all the images of fitness model bodies and simply train to be more fit and healthy.
Facet Seven recently announced our new FACET SEVEN training concept which encourages balance in all facets of fitness and at the heart of this is the desire for our members to be completely fit rather than simply appear fit. FACET SEVEN seeks to direct your focus away from having great before and after pictures, to having great right now performance. Facet Seven is the place for real people who want to do real workouts and get real results. Results that make you stronger, healthier, more agile and flexible and where looking healthier is the byproduct rather than the goal. If you believe in this mission and want to help us grow this movement, share this post. Let’s get as many people as possible to join us in achieving this cultural shift!
