Being healthy is a process and if you haven’t been giving yourself the time it takes to be healthy then it’s an even longer process. You have to adjust a thousand things to get your formula just right and everyone’s is different. What works for your BFF may not work for you or what works for you may not work for your BFF and so on. Every person’s body is unique and therefore requires a unique approach. Here is where I will sing the praises of personal training once again - it really is fantastic.
Staying motivated when it feels like you will never see the light at the end of your tunnel is the hardest thing ever. It is almost an impossible feat to continue working so hard even when you have no idea where you’ll end up. You have a goal, yes, and a dream for your future but the process is where you make progress. Trust the process.
That is where personal training hits its stride - making progress - and why I love it so much. On the days when you have no more to give your personal trainer will coax you into giving just a little bit and then a little bit more. Personal trainers take what seems like a monumental task and breaks it up into easier-to-digest pieces so you don’t get burnt out. Personal trainers are your personal cheerleaders. Let that sink in for a minute. Their goal is to cheer YOU on and help you be a better you. It’s like having a great friend who helps you kick butt, avoid bad choices, and tells you you’re awesome while doing it. I mean, it’s a no brainer if you ask me.
The point is, even when the couch feels like it wants to swallow you whole and your body aches from yesterday’s hurdles you have to keep going. You can go at a turtle pace if you have to but the fact is - you must still go!
