If You Always Focus On What You Don't Have, You Will Never Have Enough
This week as we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are reminded of all the wonderful things in our lives and how grateful we should be for them. Gratitude is one of the most powerful qualities we can possess. It allows us to see our blessings however small, and keeps life's challenges from becoming overwhelming. By focusing on what we have and being grateful for those things we can stay positive and motivated to make the most of those things.
Cherish what you have and take care of it because nothing is guaranteed. Your health is one of your greatest assets. If your arms and legs work, you are fortunate; take good care of those muscles. If your heart and lungs are functioning, keep them healthy and strong. Eat, sleep and exercise in a way that honors your temple and acknowledges what a blessing it is to have. Don't focus on what you don't have or can't do. This type of thinking will keep you in a negative cycle of depression and self-doubt. Focus on what you can do with what you do have remembering there are always others less fortunate than you.
